What is the difference between a Fire Department and a Fire District?
A fire Department is part of the city and a Fire District is a Local Regional Area Government that serves that region. The City of Sedona has NO fire department. The fire District gets paid from the Property Taxes
What Governments do we have in the Greater Sedona Region?
We have Governing Boards that control the School District, Fire District, Airport Authority along with the City of Sedona. The City has no control of the other government agencies as the city limits is a limited area. Everyone uses the name Sedona and share the same zip codes but that does not make them part of the city.
